Revisiting Altivec

After painfully restoring my old Mac Power Book G4 from Snow Leopard to Debian Linux (this deserves another blog topic of its own), I remember the good old Altivec that is native with this PowerPC processor (big ENDIAN) from Motorola (now FreeScale).

Before the Mac moved on to Intel processors in 2005, the processors being used were Motorola.

Altivec is an awesome native instruction sets for parallel vector operations we call SIMD or Single Instruction Multiple data.
