Software development meets dad’s joke

My first attempt to write a joke. Please go easy on me.

While installing and researching for the awesome Aerospike database, I concocted a joke, maybe in a dad’s joke category. Here goes… let me know if coders can understand or relate to this joke.

Back in the early 2000s, software managers would bark, “OK, team, we will use the LAMP stack for this project… Are there any questions?”

Silence in the meeting room, as they all knew that LAMP stands for Linux, Apache, MySQL, and PHP/Python/Perl.

Fast forward to today, a development manager writes LAUGH on the whiteboard and goes, “OK, team, we will use the LAUGHing stack for this project… are there any questions?”

Developers look at each other in puzzlement. “Did I just hear a laughing stack?” said one developer nervously to another.

Looking at their discomforted faces, the manager explained that it’s just Linux, Aerospike for the database, Go, and then HAProxy.

“But you left out the U”, said the team lead proudly.

“Oh, that one!” said the manager. “It stands for the mandatory use of Under_score, no hyphen allowed!”
